Corel Draw should in theory produce reasonably small files, due to the vector-based nature of it. Files quickly get bigger if you start to introduced embedded bitmaps (JPEG, PNG etc). If this is the case, it is worth reducing the size of the bitmaps (using PhotoPaint or something similar) before loading them in to CorelDraw again.
It’s worth a try, it’s the best answer I can give based on the information available to me.
