I have an image that has black outlines and a white background. I want to uniform the white and create that checkerboard pattern so I can change the background colour. How do I do this?

It’s been a little while since i’ve used it, but I think you have to use the tool to select the entire area around the object that you want to stand out, right click on it and go to select inverse, that should select everything around the image that you originally selected and fill it with black, or cut it. Hope this helps or gets you closer to figuring it out, Good luck!
