This Tutorial Shows you how to make an animated GIF out of a video. UPDATE: If you are having problems with the video not showing up, etc, THEN: Does the video file work in other programs, and do ANY other video files work in photoshop? You might have a codec missing or it could be a rendering problem. You just need to find the source of the problem (ie find out if another file will work in CS3.) If this still doesn’t help, then sorry, I can’t do anything for you.

  1. @rhrsoulmates I have Windows Vista and I it has a 32 bit version, maybe it has something to do with your windows version, which can either be 32 bit or 64 bit. So I’m not sure how you can change it, sorry. But you could Google and see if there’s any way to fix it. Sorry I’m not much help… 🙁

  2. @milooshey Since you’ve used CS5, do you mind my asking a question? I went to import but got a message: “Import video frames to layers is not available in the 64 bit version of Photoshop. Please use the 32 bit version instead.” Is there a way to switch to 32 bit or do they mean I would need to buy a totally different version? Sorry, I’m semi-clueless with Photoshop. TIA!

  3. @milooshey mine got fixed too, well i think there was no problem to begin with just that none the videos i had in 1 folder would work…but other videos even in the same format worked….duno what was wrong but its working now!

  4. @milooshey I’m not sure what you use but I use Power Producer for producing my video’s. What I did was save the video as an .AVI but there are two ways to save it in Power Producer. I save it as DV-AVI instead of Windows-AVI. Then PS CS3 recognized it. Hope that helps.

  5. I’m having a problem. After I open the video, it only shows up white and you can’t see it. Do you know how I can fix it? thank you
