Alright youtube veiwers, this is a basic Photoshop CS4 tutorial on how to use different layers to retouch your picture. I did speed it up a little because i am going to post a written tutorial here, to make it easier for you all to follow the instructions, on what i am doing in this video. The steps: 1: Create a duplicate layer of your image in the layers section, which should be in the lower right corner in your Photoshop. 2: Choose the option “Soft Light” Under the blending options for the “duplicate” layer. You do this so you keep your first and starting image, in case you make a mistake editing and you want to be able to restart. 3: Goto “edit” then “adjustments” then select “Hue/Saturation”. We are only going to be messing with the saturation of the image, so drag the saturation bar between 30 and 40. I myself, prefer 38 for my images. 4: Next, Goto “Edit/Adjustments” but this time choose “curves” a box with a diagonal line should come up. what you want to do is drag a part of the line up into the top four boxes on the right side. Next drag the bottom part of the line down by the bottom left four boxes until you find a level just right for you! 5: Again, Goto “Edit/Adjustments” but click the option “Shadows/Highlights” now and drag both bars to “100%” 6: Save the picture, and upload it to wherever you want!
